PANORAMA - MONDAYS AT 8.30PM ON BBC ONE NEW YEAR, NEW WEBSITE Happy New Year to you all! Here at Panorama we are kicking off 2009 not only with a new run of programmes, bringing you the issues that really matter every Monday night, but with a new website too. The most obvious change to the re-vamped site is its dramatic new look, but that is not the only difference. You are now able to delve deeper than ever before into the issues we report with video highlights, features and additional material related to each week's programme. WEB CHATTER You can find out more about Panorama's on-screen team in their new reporter profiles. And you can talk to us on wider issues and keep fully up-to-date on everything that is happening at Panorama with our blog. Reporters Jane Corbin, John Sweeney and Raphael Rowe are blogging about the challenging situations they face in their work. You get an insight into the editorial dilemmas and pitfalls which pepper the process of making Panorama from Executive Producer Tom Giles. And members of the web team give you the inside track on what is happening now and how stories we reported on in the past are developing. Right now you can look back at the high and lows of 2008 with a review of Panorama's action-packed year from our web editor Derren Lawford. BLAST FROM THE PAST Talking of looking back, you can also take a trip down memory lane in our About Panorama section, which includes a history of the programme - the world's longest-running investigative programme - details on our award-winning work and a short film on the first 50 years. By rifling through the history section you will see how over the years Panorama has earned its flagship status by always tackling the difficult subjects head on - work which of course continues today. And having boned up on all things Panorama, you can put your knowledge to the test with our quiz. PLUS CA CHANGE But we don't believe in change for change's sake, throwing the baby out with the bath water or any other such idioms, so you will find that the website's most popular features remain. If you miss an episode you can still watch it in full for 12 months after transmission on our archive pages. And every week you will still get the chance to have your say on the programme through our comments page. BYE FOR NOW We hope that you enjoy using the new site - but remember the most important thing is that we created it for you, and so we are always keen to hear what you think. Please e-mail us at panorama@bbc.co.uk and put 'Website' in the subject heading. The Panorama Team bbc.co.uk/panorama |
