MAKING HISTORY
It was only thirteen months ago that Panorama asked: Is America Ready for a Black President? We looked at how Barack Obama had been described as a political sensation, and asked whether he could overcome racial divisions. The answer came this week as he became the first black president of the United States and the world witnessed history in the making.
It is not until January that the president-elect and his family, with the puppy he promised his daughters, will move to the White House. But watch this space, because we are sure to bring you some coverage of Obama's early days in office.
ID SHOPPING
Another issue Panorama has reported on was in the news this week, as the government said it is in talks with retailers and the Post Office about setting up booths to gather biometric data. This means supermarkets could end up taking people's fingerprints as part of the government's ID scheme.
In You can run... but can you hide? Simon Boazman looked at whether Britain is on its way to becoming a surveillance society, and he was surprised at how readily available his personal details were. You can still watch this programme online via our archive.
IN WHOSE INTEREST?
Talking of recent programmes, in Panorama's Britain in the Red we gave you the chance to put some of your financial queries to the BBC's business editor Robert Peston. And it seems many of you are still very worried about the economy.
