Within hours of Lehman filing the largest bankruptcy in US history, thousands of shocked workers could be seen leaving its Manhattan and UK offices, having just cleared their desks. But experts are warning it is not just bankers who face dark days ahead, that millions of people around the world are likely to be affected - at least indirectly.
