MANISH BHASIN ON THE FOOTBALL LEAGUE SHOW It's been a long, wet summer, but we've got some news that should brighten your day. This season you can see every league goal scored by all 92 clubs in England on the BBC. Match of the Day is back for the new Premier League campaign next weekend, and from this Saturday football fans can see every goal from the Championship, League One and League Two in a brand new highlights show. The Football League Show will feel very different to any football programme on the BBC. The studio's great, very funky. We're going for quite an informal approach and we'll be encouraging viewers to contribute via texts and emails. But the focus of the programme is, of course, action. It's a 70 minute show, of which an hour will be match highlights. With every goal from three divisions to cram in there's not much room for studio chat. But Steve Claridge will be joining me each week to offer up his expert opinion and with 20 different clubs and a career spanning over 1000 games behind him, there are few that know more about the Football League. If you're out on a Saturday night, you can catch a repeat of The Football League Show on the BBC Red Button and BBC iPlayer. And you can watch individual match edits on the BBC Sport website. And if that's not enough football for you, we'll also be showing 10 live Championship games per season, starting with West Brom v Newcastle at tea-time on Saturday. Whoever you support, good luck for the new season and we hope you enjoy the BBC's coverage of your team. Manish Manish Bhasin presents The Football League Show this Saturday at 2345 BST on BBC One. Manish was talking to Paul Atherton. |
