PRESENTED BY GAVIN ESLER

NEWSNIGHT CANCER SPECIAL

At present, one in three of us will develop cancer, are we doing enough to stop it? Tonight a special Newsnight will examine how good cancer care is in the UK.

Why do our cancer survival rates lag behind so many of our European neighbours?

Plus, we will examine the latest scientific breakthroughs that are bringing hope to millions.

A
Newsnight poll has revealed how little we are prepared do as individuals to decrease the risk of cancer, we will have the results.

We'll also hear from Woman's Hour presenter Jenni Murray about how our culture deals with the disease, and from singer Ronan Keating about the devastating impact of cancer on his family.

We want to hear from you - tell us your reaction to the word cancer here.

And have you or someone in your family been affected by cancer? What services and advice were you offered? How was the standard of care? Leave your comments here.

We'll also have the latest news from Italy on the earthquake that has killed many and left thousands more homeless.

Please do join us at 10.30pm.
