NEXT PANORAMA - THE SECRET POLICEMAN RETURNS - MONDAY 8.30PM

THE SECRET POLICEMAN RETURNS

You may have been expecting a different Panorama this Monday, but Thursday's sudden news that Sir Ian Blair, commissioner of the Metropolitan Police and Britain's most senior officer, had resigned spurred us to shuffle our schedule and bring you a film we've been working on for months.

Panorama's Mark Daly, who five years ago uncovered shocking racism among police recruits as The Secret Policeman, investigates what it's like to be Black Minority Ethnic member of the police force today.

In The Secret Policeman Returns, Mark finds a story of officers and staff who feel victimised and sidelined, examines the results of our Black Police Association survey and uncovers the explosive row at the top of the Met that may have contributed to Sir Ian's downfall. You can read more about Monday's upcoming programme on our website.

THE MAN WITH THE PLAN UNVEILED

In other news, David Cameron has been in the headlines all week thanks to the Conservative Party conference.

In Panorama: Next Stop Downing Street? the would-be prime minister met some undecided voters.

The BBC's political correspondent spent a day with David Cameron mirroring a programme we made over a decade ago with the-then prime minister in-waiting Tony Blair.

You can watch Blair's Britain in full on our website.

There's also plenty of material on the new programme on our website. Hundreds of you posted your comments on Nick Robinson's blog.

If you missed this week's Panorama, you can catch up on the BBC's iPlayer.

HEATHROW PLANS AXED?

In Cameron's conference speech on Wednesday he pitched himself as 'the man with the plan'.

Part of his plan is to scrap proposals for a third runway at Heathrow if he gets into power.

The government has come under sharp criticism for its move to go ahead with another runway, as explored in Panorama's programme Friends in High Places which was broadcast in July.

If you missed it you can still watch it via the archive pages of our website.

PANORAMA'S ARCHIVE NOW DELICIOUS

But if you want to delve back even further into the Panorama archive then we've got some good news.

We've added entries for Panorama's archive as far back as 2000 on Delicious.

If you're not already familiar with it, Delicious is a 'social bookmarking' site that allows you to share your favourite weblinks with others and add descriptive tags that make it much easier to search for links by subject.

So, if you're interested in seeing how Panorama's covered a particular topic in the past you can now browse our archives easier than ever before without knowing the exact title of the film.

BYE FOR NOW

That's all for this week. You can keep up to date with what's happening on the programme on our website.

And remember, if you have a story, suggestion or comment you'd like to send us then you can always email us panorama@bbc.co.uk
