JOHN INVERDALE ON THE SIX NATIONS FINALE The chance for Irish legends such as Brian O'Driscoll and Paul O'Connell to win a Grand Slam may not come round again. They face Wales in Cardiff knowing that victory will give Ireland their first Grand Slam since 1948. History beckons and if they want to see their faces and names emblazoned on T-shirts forever more they must be thinking, 'don't mess this up'. And I'm convinced they won't. I feel the likes of O'Driscoll, O'Connell and Ronan O'Gara will wake up on Saturday and say, 'this is our moment'. Earlier in the week I was predicting that Wales were going to win by the 13 points they need to claim the Six Nations title, but the closer we get to the game I feel Ireland will take it by the narrowest of margins. For me, O'Gara is the key man as his steely determination will be fundamental. England face Scotland off the back of their crushing win over France and they will now be kicking themselves that a few indiscretions have cost them a potential Grand Slam of their own. I think they will beat Scotland by 20 points on Saturday and look ahead to their summer tour matches with Argentina knowing they have taken a big step forward and the green shoots of recovery are certainly there. As for Scotland and coach Frank Hadden, there will be calls for him to be sacked if they lose at Twickenham. It's all well and good saying, 'sack Frank Hadden', but who else is there? He hasn't had a lot to work with. What was most amazing about England's win last Sunday was just how woeful France were. They take their bruised egos to Rome and I'd hate to be Italy coach Nick Mallet as the French team will play like it's a World Cup final. If they don't, they really have problems and will be staring into a black hole. It's set to be a great weekend. John John Inverdale presents coverage of Wales v Ireland on BBC One on Saturday.
