CLARE BALDING ON THE CHALLENGE CUP FINAL
St Helens are the overwhelming favourites going into the Challenge Cup final against Hull FC.

They are just too good. They have got so many options that if one idea isn't working they can simply try another. Their kicking game is fantastic, their attack is immense and their defence is almost impregnable.

If Hull have got any chance at all they have to keep it tight through the first 20 minutes otherwise it could materialise into an absolute rout.

I think Saints will win by 35 points or more.

That said Hull were in a similar position when they went into the 2005 final, but stunned a tight and nervy Leeds side.

They will go out thinking, 'we have nothing to lose, no one expects us to win, let's put them under a bit of pressure and see if we can crack them'.

The trouble is I just don't think St Helens are very easy to crack.

There's no pressure on Daniel Anderson's men. They have all been there, they've won it for the last two years and they are not searching for something they've never quite had before.

Knowing they are going for a hat-trick of Challenge Cup wins is tremendous for their confidence.

I love the Challenge Cup final as this is an event where you get an intensity of commitment from the fans.

Everyone comes down to Wembley regardless of whether their team is playing.

It's rugby league's big day out and there are a lot of people there who don't mind who wins, they are there for the love of the game which is something you don't really find in football or many other sports.

Enjoy the weekend,

Clare
